The most effective ways to reduce tobacco use and keep kids from ever starting to use tobacco are having a statewide comprehensive tobacco and control program, increasing the price of tobacco and making all public places and work places smoke free.

  • Helped pass the Tobacco Tax
  • Successfully advocated for smokefree Alaska airports
  • Guided state program direction
  • Increased public awareness
  • Completed 10-year strategic plan (2000 – 2010)
  • Produced Alaska Quit Kits
  • Alaska QUIT-Line
